Ratchet & Clank 2 PS2 - September 7th Prototype

Here’s a piece of Ratchet & Clank 2 trivia you may not have known about!

The Game Pyramid found in Clank’s apartment on Planet Endako was initially depicted as a PlayStation 2, even in the September 7th version of the game. However, it had to be altered because Sony Computer Entertainment guidelines prohibited including a PlayStation 2 if it could be attacked or destroyed. Consequently, it was modified to an Xbox as an experiment to see if it would pass the test department’s scrutiny, but it was ultimately removed for comparable reasons. The Game Pyramid was settled on as the solution.

Endako is a planet featured in “Going Commando,” making cameo appearances in “Up Your Arsenal,” “Size Matters,” and “Secret Agent Clank.” It is an urban planet home to Megapolis, a sprawling city and a hub for Megacorp. Megapolis is known for its expansive skyline of modern buildings, surrounding a large structure with two towers and robot cleaners. Clank resided in an apartment in Megapolis while working as Megacorp’s head accountant.
